My name is Siyu Pan. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northern Arizona University. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia State University in the summer of 2020. Prior to that, I received my M.A. from the Department of Economics at Vanderbilt University and my B.A. in international trade from the School of Economics at Renmin University of China.

My main fields of research are Environmental Economics and Economic History. My job market paper looks at the behavioral responses to environment-related health shocks. The rest of my dissertation focuses on Chinese economic history, using a unique ancient housing transaction dataset that I have collected over the past two years.

I have been teaching a series of courses in microeconomics, environmental economics, and economic history at Oberlin College. I have also taught Principles of Microeconomics at Georgia State University and have received outstanding reviews.
